Show and Tell is wasted on elementary schoolers. Join several dozen bloggers weekly to show off an item, tell a story, and get the attention of the class. Come see what the rest of the class is showing.

This little lot arrived yesterday:

Fabric

That’s over eight and a half yards of fabric, one yard of batting (to make a couple of baby quilts), five yards of ribbon, one yard of snap tape (so much easier than attaching snaps one at a time), a book of baby patterns, plus a pack of tracing cloth to copy the patterns from the book. It’s all wonderfully soft, organic cotton. Guess what I’m going to be busy doing whilst waiting for our child to arrive? Though now I’m starting to think I might make something out of that red fleece for myself instead. :)

I love the soft white & red pieces of fleece (top two), & the other bits of unbleached cotton flannel, ribbing and jersey, but I think these two are my favourite pieces:

Alphabet

How cute is that alphabet fabric? Now to start the boring bit: washing & ironing this lot. Hmm, what to make first..?

Hi..thanks for stopping by and leaving a comment. I think it’s so awesome that you are adopting..Being adopted myself, it was the best thing that ever happened to me. So congratulations to you =) Also, that red fleece, is rad.

Oh wow. I am nesting too, (if a little prematurely, in my case).
This is so inspiring! I am tempted.
(Though I better wait till at least we get approved.)

Oh, we’re not even approved yet, but we’re close, & I just couldn’t resist any longer. :)

I have this sudden urge to become your new BFF so you’ll make one of these blankets for ME (who cares about my kids — they’re not babies, lol).

Seriously, I love that alphabet pattern, too. I’ve always admired people who can quilt.

LOVE the fabric. I hope you share your final product with us.

Love the fabrics! Like the others said – please share the finished products, I’d love to see them!

Love it. I wish I could sew. My mum is an awesome quilt maker.

Good luck with your adoption, I really wish this was a realistic adoption for us. I also appreciate your vegan perspective – we are two vegetarians.

Wishing you all the best and thanks for stopping by my blog.

    Andie.

Oh, I wish I were that crafty – I can barely sew on a button. That is a wonderful project to have. Years ago, our young women’s Buddhist group made quilts for a hospital and I sewed one square. I loved doing it, but unfortunately, patience is not a virtue for me. Please show us when you are done.

Hi! I think the fabric looks lovely! I tried to make a quilt once, it was supposed to be 12 cross-stitched panels on a pretty background….I still haven’t finished it.

Hi! Thanks for stopping by my blog today. Yours was one of many I had open yesterday when I was interrupted so I don’t think I ever commented but I read quite a bit. I even mentioned to my husband that I was reading a blog written by two scientists. :)

I love the fabric you bought. I wish I knew how to sew. Good luck filling the beautiful things you’ll make with a beautiful baby!

I’m a total fan of the alphabet fabric myself! It’s unique and not something commonly seen on any Babies R Us shelf.

Oh, how I wish I was crafty! Sewing on a button is the limit of my expertise, so consider me jealous. :) The fabrics you picked are awesome…I am a fan of the stripes.

Gorgeous. Love that find-a-word print. So divine.

I have been doing a bit of kids clothes sewing of late – not for me, too jinxy – but for friends etc. Loads of fun!
